Vertically Challenged: Physics Isnt On Your Side

Vertically Challenged doesn't leave you any wiggle room. Land a dart here and you're flat on your back — floor, sofa, whatever's nearest — trying to get a mouthful of your drink without gravity making a mess of it. There's no dodge built into this one, no "or take a shot" escape clause. You're doing it.

At a real table it rarely goes smoothly first go. The drink pools somewhere unfortunate around the chin, goes straight up a nostril, or soaks into whatever you're lying on. Someone's got their phone out before you've even hit the ground, and the running commentary only gets louder the closer the glass gets to your face.

The one thing that actually helps: tilt your head back, not the cup. Most people try to angle the drink instead and end up drowning themselves. A smaller glass beats a full pint every time, though you don't get much say — whatever's in your hand when the dart lands is what you're working with.

It sits in the 4th Circle, one of the board's twenty-wedge rings, so it's not some rare pull saved for special occasions. It shows up as often as almost anything else on the board — sooner or later, someone's flat on the floor mid-round, drink in hand, dignity optional.
