Who we are
DartUp Ltd (company number to follow once incorporation completes) is the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at [email protected] for anything to do with your data.
What we collect
- → Placing an order: your name, email and shipping address, taken at checkout and processed through Stripe. Stripe also handles your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number.
- → Joining the email list: just your email address, if you choose to leave it for updates.
Why we use it (lawful basis)
- → Order details (name, email, shipping address) are processed because we need them to fulfil your order — that's the "contract" basis.
- → Marketing emails (pre-order counter updates and launch news) only go to people who've opted in, on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw it any time.
Where it's stored
Payment and checkout data lives with Stripe, our payment processor. Order records — what you bought, your shipping address, order status — live in our own order database. We don't use third-party ad or tracking platforms to store your data.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, warranty and legal purposes — normally up to six years, in line with UK record-keeping requirements. If you're only on the email list and never order, we keep your email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
We don't sell your data
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone. We only share it with the processors that help us run the shop — currently Stripe for payments — and only to the extent they need it to do that job.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the data we hold on you, or ask us to stop using it for marketing. Email [email protected] and we'll sort it. Deletion requests are handled quickly, unless we're legally required to keep something, such as order records for tax purposes.
If you think we've mishandled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We'd rather you told us first so we can put it right.
