Titanic

Titanic sets a little trap before anyone's even taken a sip. A full glass goes down as the ship, and an empty shot glass floats on top of it. From there, everyone takes turns tipping a splash of their own drink in, trying not to be the one who finally sinks it. Whoever does, drinks the lot — ship, shot, all of it.

Round a real table this starts almost polite. Thin, careful trickles, everyone leaning in to watch the level creep up. Then someone gets bored of the suspense, tips in a proper glug to move things along, and gets side-eyed by the whole table for it. It usually goes wrong when the table's wobbly, when a "helpful" top-up right before your go tips it over on purpose, or when the shot glass has already half-filled itself with spillage before it's even your turn.

The honest tactic is patience: pour along the rim in a thin, steady stream and stop the second it looks borderline. You're not trying to win the round, you're just trying not to be the one holding the glass when it goes under. Passing when your hand's not steady is completely fair.

It lives in the 3rd Circle, so it's not the first wedge to come up, but it's not buried either — most nights it lands enough times that somebody ends up wearing that pint before last orders.
